How to Create an Instagram Carousel from Text for Free Without Watermarks
You have a useful explanation, but placing it in one image makes it look like a page of lecture notes. A carousel works better when each slide does part of the job: introduce the problem, explain an idea or show the next step.
Antrapost’s free carousel maker turns your text into downloadable images. Antrapost is one of my projects. The editor does not write with AI: you decide the content, and the tool presents it in a design.
Plan the sequence before choosing colors
A carousel does not need ten slides to be complete. Start with a question you can answer and decide what readers should understand when they finish.
To explain a programming decision, you could use this sequence:
| Slide | Purpose | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Introduce the problem | My application saved duplicate expenses |
| 2 | Explain the cause | Repeated submission created another operation |
| 3 | Show the decision | I added a way to identify the same attempt |
| 4 | Describe verification | I checked what happened when submitting twice |
| 5 | Suggest the next step | Test this workflow in your next project |
This is an editorial example, not a story of real results. Replace each line with something you can demonstrate in your own application.
Write text the editor understands
The first line of each block becomes its title, and the rest becomes its body. Separate slides with a line containing only three dashes: ---.
For example, write “A concrete problem” as the title, add a short explanation below, then the separator and “A decision you can defend” as the next title. Putting every paragraph into one block will not magically create a sequence of ideas.
The tool supports one to ten slides. That is an editor limit, not a statement about Instagram’s maximum. If your explanation needs more, simplify the argument or split it into two pieces that each make sense on their own.
Create the carousel step by step
- Open the editor and replace the example text with your content.
- Separate blocks with
---and check the slide count. - Choose square 1080 × 1080 or portrait 1080 × 1350.
- Select the editorial or framed layout.
- Adjust the background, text and accent colors. Add a signature if you want.
- Inspect every slide, not just the first.
- Download individual PNGs or the complete carousel as a ZIP.
After downloading the ZIP, extract it and verify file order before uploading to a platform. The archive keeps your images together; this tool does not publish it directly as a carousel.
Cut words before shrinking the text
If a slide cannot be exported because it contains too much text, simplify its content. The editor does not need all the technical context in one image.
Replace “In the context of the development process for this application I decided to implement…” with a concrete statement: “I chose this solution because…”. If the explanation is still long, turn it into two ideas and make sure the second slide remains understandable.
Check contrast too. A beautiful brand color can be difficult to read on another brand color. The tool warns when text and background have low contrast; also inspect the result at phone size.
What to download and retain
The files are PNGs without an Antrapost watermark. You can add your own signature or brand. Drafts are not saved when closing or reloading, so keep the text in your notes and download images before leaving.
If the carousel comes from a software project, retain its longer explanation too. This guide to turning a README into content helps you reuse the material without stripping away context.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to download?
No. The editor and downloads are free and require no registration.
Does the tool generate the arguments with AI?
No. It turns text you write into slides. You review the facts, examples, order and wording.
Can I publish the ZIP directly?
Extract the images and upload them in the correct order to the destination’s editor. Check its format and file-count requirements.
Turn an explanation into a sequence
Try Antrapost’s carousel maker with an idea you can explain in five steps. When each slide helps readers understand the next, the design has content worth reading.
