How to Publish to Facebook and Instagram with Antrapost Without Account Mix-Ups

Preparing a Facebook and Instagram post seems like one task until it appears on the wrong page or one network publishes while the other fails. Publishing to multiple networks requires reviewing destinations and results separately, even when sharing one idea and file.

Antrapost is one of my projects, designed for creating, reviewing, scheduling and publishing through a shared workflow. This guide explains how to prepare a Facebook and Instagram post without treating both networks as identical. Explore the product at Antrapost.

Distinguish preparation from publishing first

The free tools let you work with images and text without registration. They do not automatically publish downloaded files to your accounts.

The publishing product requires an account, authorized connections and applicable service terms. It is not a free plan merely because the compressor, covers or checklist are free. Review current plans before purchasing and available integrations before selecting destinations.

What Facebook and Instagram require

This workflow uses an authorized Facebook Page and a connected professional Instagram account. Do not confuse a Page with a personal profile or assume an old authorization remains valid.

Prepare compatible visual media for both networks. Instagram needs an image or video in this workflow; a text-only message working on Facebook does not automatically become an Instagram post.

Before publishing, open the file and test the destination link. Use the free tools to inspect framing and size; the final review also happens in the product editor.

Step 1: select only the intended accounts

Check each destination’s name. If the editor restored an earlier selection or displays several available accounts, do not accept the combination out of habit.

For one Page and one profile, leave only those two destinations selected. Account groups can save work, but review their members when changing brands or adding connections.

If two accounts on the same network need different messages, prepare separate posts: the editor adapts copy per network, not per individual account.

Step 2: adapt the copy and inspect the files

Write the base idea and inspect the Facebook and Instagram versions. The editor lets you adjust text per network. A Page can include the appropriate direct link; an Instagram caption should not depend on that link being clickable.

Read warnings about omitted destinations or incompatible files. “Send to one network” does not demonstrate that both are ready. If Instagram’s required media is missing, fix it before continuing.

To prepare a short message, use the caption counter. Its editable target does not replace the publishing editor’s rules or warnings.

Step 3: review timing and confirmation

When scheduling, check the date and time in your local timezone. The current product guide specifies a time at least five minutes in the future; inspect the editor if that requirement changes.

Read the account names, publishable networks and omitted destinations in the confirmation. Cancel and correct anything missing or unexpected. Confirmation is for reviewing the actual send, not simply closing a dialog.

The pre-publishing checklist organizes those checks without performing them for you.

Step 4: inspect each result and avoid duplicates

After sending or the scheduled time, inspect the history per destination. Scheduled or processing states do not prove a post is already visible. Check the final Page or profile when its status indicates completion.

If one account published and the other failed, investigate the error. History retries are intended for failed destinations; creating another post for everyone can duplicate the one that already succeeded.

Keep a simple record: planned post, accounts, timing and result per account. This distinguishes content, permission or processing problems from confusion about destinations.

Frequently asked questions

Do the free tools publish for me?

No. They prepare downloadable material. Publishing and scheduling belong to the product and require the corresponding configuration.

Can I send exactly the same message to both networks?

You can start with the same idea, but inspect differences in formats, links and files. The copy may need adapting to make sense at each destination.

Does a partial result mean everything failed?

Not necessarily. Check what happened on each account before resending. One successful post and one failed post need different handling.
